In my last entry, I reported the death of Jonathan Winters, who passed away this past Thursday night at the age of 87. If you haven't read the article in the link I've provided in that entry, it can be read here: tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?new…

Now onto how I first heard of Jonathan Winters and how his legacy impacted my life:

It began when I was in fourth grade, when every student was asked to do a report on a famous Ohioan. Mr. Light was my teacher at the time. Next door to his classroom was Mr. Aller. I did not do a report on a famous Ohioan because my time was divided between Mr. Light and Mrs. Trenkamp's multi-handicapped class. However, Chris Hicks, a student in Mr. Aller's class, was assigned a report on Jonathan Winters. This is what introduced me to the comical groundbreaker. About nine months later, I was watching a holiday TV special called "Frosty Returns", and as I was watching the opening credits, it said it starred Jonathan Winters as "the storyteller". My favorite part from that special with Winters in it was when a small Winters drank Coke from a straw, and he said that drinking Coke would help him focus.

Nearly 12 years later, I stumbled upon a list of male celebrities along with their respective underwear preferences, which came upon by accident when I was googling "jakob dylan chest hair". I saw a link for a "celebrity boxers or briefs list" which said that Jakob Dylan (whom I was looking for to see an image of him at least shirtless and exposing chest hair) preferred "boxers or briefs". (Since they changed the list, adding new celebrities and removing old ones to the list, as well as updating preferences of those already on the list, Dylan's preference on the list hasn't changed, although I am guessing he only wears boxer briefs now). Jonathan Winters was on that list with his preference being boxers. I believe he and his preference were added when the site discovered an article on the 75th anniversary of the invention of the men's brief, and added a link to it. That article said that Winters preferred boxers, as well as actor Alec Baldwin and comedian Tom Arnold (who at 53 recently gave birth to a newborn son, the first time he's ever had a child in his life). Another man in that article listed as a celebrity that wore boxers was actor Jason Priestley, who recently changed his preference to boxer briefs. Before then, long after watching "Frosty Returns", I'd forgotten about Jonathan Winters.

In addition, I have added two additional articles on Winters' legacy:

Cherub-faced comedian Jonathan Winters, whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87.

The Dayton, OH, native passed away Thursday evening at his Montecito, CA, home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend.

Have I got an early Easter surprise for you! Every day this past week, I got something through the mail that I've ordered on the Internet. Monday thru Friday, it was something from one different seller each day! It was all books and video games.

On Monday, I got Britney's Dance Beat for PS2 and My Sims Sky Heroes for Wii. Tuesday, I got You Don't Know Jack for Wii brand-new and factory-sealed. Wednesday and Thursday were reserved for literature (and art). On Wednesday, I got How to Draw Pokemon by Tracey West, and on Thursday I got two books: A House Called Awful End (part one of the Eddie Dickens Trilogy) by Philip Ardagh and Get Ready for Gabi! #1: A Crazy, Mixed-Up Spanglish Day by Marisa Montes. Finally on Friday, I got Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam for Wii.

So, in other words, it was a coincidental week for me because I got a different thing or two in the mail each day and I hope my Easter basket is full! How full is yours going to be and will you get something in the mail every day?

Don't forget to comment! :D

This morning when the mail came, one of my eBay purchases came. It was a Playstation 2 video game that was listed on eBay as Tony Hawk's Underground 2. But when I opened the envelope, it was a copy of Tony Hawk's Underground 1! Seeing I already have the game, I was thinking about returning it to the original seller. The one that came in the mail had an instruction manual, and the copy I already own (which I have for about seven years now) does not. Should I return the game to the seller for a refund, I would keep the instructions and just give the one I've received today to him without them, as a way to seek revenge.

But my family is telling me is that they do not have enough money to return the game, because black ink (which is what our printer is low on) costs $30 and a padded envelope costs $15. They recommended to me that I should donate the game to Goodwill, or better, keep the game in case the other one breaks. Sadly, I can't return the game to the seller because I can only get five dollars back in return, because that's how much I paid for the game, with the shipping being free. So my best bet is to probably keep the game in case the other breaks. (Goodwill is probably better, too.)
